Also: Polite emails with a description of a problem are always accepted if something is found to be down on the website. It helps motivate people into fixing things too. :)
With this site having to be wiped a few times because CuteNews (which isn't cute at all, it's a pain) managed to screw everything up, there isn't really a definitive status post on here - and without one people seem to naturally assume the project is dead.
So here, you can have one.
On the translation: 'Progressing' is the word of the day. A respectable amount of the script was done in the project's early days, but that was using a different set of tools. Basically, floofy has quite a lot of usable script... in a form that's completely different form to the one that's currently being used. Which is going to be pretty tedious to convert.
There's also the fact that, as has been posted already, me and floofy are both working with wyrdwad on Ys Origin. That game has absolutely nowhere near the script volume this game has (~3000 lines per character route, which is... nothing really) so progress is going swimmingly on it, but still, it will take time.
There's also the fact that everyone's busy in general. I've got lots of studying and exams followed by my final year of university to deal with, floofy has a full time job, and while I don't know the details on Alerith the fact that he has more than enough to contend with already is pretty obvious.
Nevertheless, work is being done! Just not as much as we'd like.
On the hacker: This is still an issue. At the moment the only really active hacker in the Falcom world is doppiapunta (hereafter 'doppi' because it's cute), who's working really hard but can only manage so much at once and is currently dealing with Origin. Without a hacker we can't really show you any more progress videos or screenshots, because we have no way of putting them in the game. This is why the Otakon video is full of recycled material.
Make no doubt about it, this is going to take a while. The game has 55,000 strings of text, which can be anything from a craft name to a multiple pages long book. To break that down, if you were to do a minimum of one string a day, the project would take 150 *years* to complete. Doing 100 strings a day (which is pushing it) it would take one and a half years. This is just FC too, SC is longer! Unless you really want Bandai quality translations such as "I didn't have eaten an unusual today." then it's going to take a time. With Legend of Heroes 7 on the near horizon, which likely won't be the end of the series, I don't think anyone's enthusiasm is going to die any time soon. Mine certainly isn't.
I apologize for the lack of updates. I was extremely busy through preparations for Otakon.
Now that it has been shown at the panel, I'm going to imbed the demo video I showed at it on Saturday.

I will most likely change around this page a bit, because I've experimented with a few things in creating a new webpage on a new domain. I want to utilize them into the site. You probably won't notice much of a change, however.

We've got lots to talk about. Ys Origin and the Sora no Kiseki translations will be topics. I will explain a bit more on the situation with our project, and show some video of the patched version in action.
Afterwards, there's a very good chance that the video I'm putting together will wind up on youtube, but not until after Otakon.
I think Wyrdwad will also be putting up a series of videos from both this year's panel and last year's on a playlist on his youtube account. There, you will find a subtitled sequence from Sora no Kiseki the 3rd that was included on the DVD we handed out last year.
